Annotation

As suggested by the title, Rozelle's dissertation focuses on Weil's notion of attention. Rozelle begins with a discussion of what she terms a 'religio-ethical' crisis of our time, our inability to attend. She goes on to offer an in-depth examination of Weil's thought, paying particular attention to the notion of attention. In the final chapters of the dissertation, she applies Weil's work to the development of a "new pedagogy of attention".
