Annotation

In this chapter, Rhees discusses the changes in Weil’s views of science from her earlier work to that written in the years before her death. Rhees raises many questions and identifies many problems in Weil’s attempt to apply her ideas of science as ‘obedience to necessity’ to the human and ‘supernatural’ realm particularly in relation to the ‘grace of God’, the body, and interpersonal relationships.
