Boulting argues Weil’s thinking must be understood as developing through four stages as opposed to just looking at it in its final form as do many scholars writing about her. He offers this discussion within the context of a biographical overview of what he terms “the intellectual developments in her thought”, looking at the early influence of her teacher Alain (Emile Chartier), as well as her engagement with Marxism, pacifism, Platonism and Christianity. |
