Rice argues American scholarship on Weil has been overly focused on her psychological condition and religious thought at the expense of her political writing and activism, especially her opposition to colonialism. Such writing, he argues misrepresents Weil and her concerns. Rice’s essay addresses this issue by outlining the role of anti-colonialism in Weil's life and work. |
