Annotation

Pirruccello looks at Simone Weil’s concept of attention and the various forms it takes in an attempt to show central to this concept is the paradoxical coexistence of presence and absence within it. To aid in her discussion she draws on the thought of the Kyoto school philosopher Hase Shõtõ’s discussion of Tanabe Hajime’s concept of absolute nothingness.
