The paper begins with a critical overview of the field of management studies since 1992, identifying some of the major problems to arise within the field. The author then introduces Weil and her work before turning to a more in-depth discussion of her writing on oppression and management. In the final section of the paper, he relates the work of Weil he has presented to some of the contemporary forms of management introduced at the beginning. Ultimately he claims Weil's "concept of oppression offers a viable alternative to the Marxist notion of exploitation, while offering an ethical basis for the critical analysis of management, science end expertise" (p. 605). |
