Vogel addresses the subject of 'waiting' as it is addressed in the Christian tradition. After presenting a general discussion of, and response to 'waiting', he turns to an examination of various Christian thinkers consideration of the subject. Simone Weil is the subject of the third chapter of the dissertation. While focusing on the treatment of waiting in her work, he also provides a fairly in-depth survey of some of it's central concepts including decreation, necessity and affliction. |
