Annotation

Here, Rhees claims Weil’s later writings, including those on science were more in the nature of religious meditations than philosophy. That being the case, he says, he does not know how to approach them, especially in a critical sense. He notes the shift in her use of terms like necessity, saying they come to mean something quite different in the later than in the earlier work. In short, he claims the later the work, the more theological and the less ‘scientific’ it becomes.
