Rybakova looks at the role imagination and attention play in Weil’s translation of the Iliad, arguing despite Weil’s denunciation of imagination, it comes into play in her translation of the Iliad causing her to misinterpret a critical scene within it. Ultimately, Weil’s misreading, results in a misrepresentation of some of the central issues in the work. |
