Annotation

Fox compares the work of Simone Weil, Hannah Arendt and Herbert Marcuse on the topics of ‘freedom through community’, rationality, science, and politics. The section on Weil is a basic overview of her thought on these topics drawn primarily from The Need for Roots and the Simone Weil Reader. There is some confusion regarding the latter source as although Fox indicates page numbers, no bibliographic information is given making it difficult for the reader to refer to the source material.
