As part of his larger dissertation on Bataille, Biles looks at the relationship between Bataille and Weil. In particular, he is interested in Bataille's reading of Weil, arguing Bataille sees in her an example of 'hyperChristianity', and thus treats her as "a kind of divine but decaying intercessor, a patron saint of perishability'" (p. 8).
