Annotation

Davis looks at the notions of mediation or intermediaries and the absence of God in Weil's work. He examines the ideas of distance or the withdrawal of God and necessity as he argues; these are central to her notion of mediation. He also considers affliction and beauty in his discussion. He concludes by drawing "attention to passages where she (Weil) sketches a theology of mediation", (p. 3).
