Blackburn begins with a reflection on inter-faith dialogue in light of the attack on the twin towers in New York, on September 11, 2001. She then moves on to give a brief overview of Simone Weil’s life before turning to a discussion of Weil’s encounter with Hindu thought, focusing particularly on her understanding of atman, karma and dharma. The article concludes with a very brief consideration of the influence of Hinduism on Weil’s writings towards the end of her life, especially those focused on the relationships between religions. |
