Annotation |
Andic explores the questions that arise from Weil’s somewhat cryptic comments about the fool in Shakespeare’s King Lear, found in one of her last journal entries. He begins with a discussion of Weil’s understanding of truth, then goes on to examine Shakespeare’s play in some depth, seeking to clarify Weil’s comments about it. In particular he is interested in the question of whom among the many characters in the play, speaks the truth and more specifically, how Weil understands this truth. |
