Weber begins this short essay by describing who Father Couturier was, how Simone Weil came to meet him and what the nature of their connection was. Weber is especially interested here in identifying what she says are many points of agreement between Weil and Couturier. Weber then turns to offer some suggestions as to why Father Couturier, despite writing at least two drafts, ultimately did not publish the introduction to the publication of Weil’s letters to him as he had originally told her parents he would. |
