Annotation |
This chapter focuses on Simone Weil as a mystic. It begins with a very brief biographical overview, paying close attention to her mystical experiences. It then goes on to discuss the impact of these experiences on the development of her thought. Of particular interest is Weil’s postulation of ‘knowledge of the third kind’, the discussion of which takes up most of the remainder of the chapter. The chapter concludes with a consideration of Weil’s views as to how this knowledge could be translated into action. |
