Although as a whole, this article focuses more on Lars von Trier’s film “Dancer in the Dark”, it does offer an insightful, well-informed discussion of Weil’s notions of affliction and attention. Faber’s application of these notions to her critical reflections on the film serves to elucidate and illustrate Weil’s concepts in an original and thought-provoking manner. |
